Separate from other birds.
Keep as dry as possible.
Hand carry or transport in a clean dry bag.

Wrap head and feet in damp paper towels.
Lay the head flat on the birds back.
Place in large freezer style ziploc bags.
Remove as much air as possible. DO NOT vacuum seal.
Mark bags with day/month/year of harvest.

If possible DO NOT use the finisher tool on the bird.
DO NOT break or wring the birds neck.

If packaged correctly it can be in the freezer 3 years or longer.

Depending on the type and extent of damage, the bird may or may not be mountable.

If possible DO NOT allow your dog to retrieve a trophy bird.

If possible please DO NOT use neck straps.

Late season birds are always better candidates for mounting.
Best months to target trophy birds are December/January.
